What is it?

So many people suffer with anxiety and, like depression, it comes in many different forms and to differing degrees of severity.

Anxiety can range from panic attacks, to fears of certain places to specific phobias, for example fear of spiders, flying, enclosed spaces and heights.

It also includes obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and social phobias.

The symptoms vary depending on the type of anxiety, some of the symptoms include the following:-

What helps?

Coping with anxiety can be a lonely and isolating experience. Counselling can help you to develop your own coping mechanisms in order to deal with anxiety and strategies to overcome negative thinking patterns. In some cases part of the work in dealing with anxiety may be exploring any possible underlying issues causing or maintaining the symptoms.
